Overnight Access and Terminal Hours

Buffalo Airport is open 24 hours a day, allowing passengers to stay overnight in case of an early departure or flight disruptions caused by severe weather. However, the TSA security checkpoint closes daily at 9:00 pm and reopens between 3:45 am and 4:00 am. Passengers who do not clear security before 9:00 pm must remain in the public landside area until morning reopening.

Sleeping Areas and Seating

The public area offers armrest-free bench seating across both departures and arrivals levels. A popular and quieter spot for resting is the Meet and Greet area on the upper level (East Terminal, near the barber shop). Temperatures can drop significantly overnight, so a light blanket or travel sleeping bag is strongly recommended. Note that The Club BUF lounge is situated inside the secure zone and closes at 7:00 pm.

Overnight Dining

Terminal eateries and sit-down restaurants close between 7:30 pm and 9:00 pm. During late-night hours, fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, snacks, cold beverages, and hot coffee can be purchased 24/7 from intelligent Buffalo Strive vending machines located in the Meet & Greet area.

Safety and Wi-Fi

NFTA Transit Police officers patrol the terminal premises 24/7. Complimentary airport Wi-Fi remains active and reliable throughout the overnight hours.

Luggage and Showers

The airport does not provide left-luggage lockers, storage facilities, or passenger shower stalls.

There are no hotels or sleep pods situated inside the passenger terminal building. However, several hotel properties are situated immediately across Genesee Street, many providing complimentary shuttle service arranged through the courtesy boards in the lower level arrivals hall.
