Terminal Operating Hours and Overnight Stays

The public side (landside) of Albany International Airport remains open 24 hours a day. However, the secure airside concourses close nightly after the departure of the final flight, and TSA security screening checkpoints reopen at 3:00 a.m. Travelers wishing to stay overnight must therefore wait in the pre-security public areas.

Resting Areas

Bench seating and a few padded chairs are situated throughout the public areas of both Level 1 and Level 2. The terminal remains brightly lit throughout the night, and maintenance staff routinely operate cleaning equipment between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. Bringing an eye mask and earplugs or noise-canceling headphones is highly recommended for resting.

Overnight Services

All concessions, restaurants, and retail shops close late in the evening. Overnight food and beverage options are limited to vending machines located in public corridors. There is no 24-hour pharmacy on site, but clean restroom facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi operate continuously throughout the night.

Safety and Security

The terminal is monitored around the clock by officers of the Albany County Sheriff's Office, providing a safe and secure environment for passengers staying overnight before early morning flights.
