Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, using an approved vaccine, are exempt from the testing and quarantine requirements. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to departure.
EU residents can provide their EU Digital Certificate in paper or digital format as proof of vaccination, negative test result or prior retrieval. Health documents provided in this way will not require additional verification on arrival. Upon arrival, proof of a negative PCR test must be presented, taken within the previous 72 hours. Instead, travelers can provide documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. This will require proof of a positive test result, taken at least 14 days prior to arrival and no more than 180 days. Test results must be in Hungarian or English and must be issued in a country of the European Union, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The quarantine period may be shortened if 2 PCR tests are confirmed negative once in Hungary, 48 hours apart and within the first 5 days.
All passengers are subject to health checks on arrival, such as temperature checks. More health tests may be required for those showing symptoms of COVID-19.
