Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport, opened on April 22, 1931, is the most important in Spain and one of the largest and busiest in the continent. It operates with domestic and international flights to destinations around the world.

Number of Terminals - 4 - Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4, open 24 hours a day and connected to each other through a courtesy shuttle bus every 5-20 minutes (the entire trip takes 10-15 min.) In addition, an automated underground train (APM) links Terminal 4 with its satellite building, with a journey of 3 min. T1 - Gates A, B, C (for international destinations, many of them intercontinental, as well as several low-cost flights), T2 - Gates C and D (for domestic destinations and most european countries), T3 - Gates E and F, T4 - Gates H, J, K (domestic and international flights from Iberia and other international companies, plus some low-cost flights and airlines with intercontinental destinations).

Low-cost parking - Covered and outdoor spaces with free shuttle service (3 minutes to Terminal 1, 5 min. to terminals 2 and 3).

Long-stay parking
Terminals 1, 2 & 3 - 3 min. from Terminal 1 and 5 min. from terminals 2 and 3, with covered and uncovered bays and free transport.
Terminal 4 - Roofed area 4 min. away from the terminal, connected through complimentary buses every 15 min.

Parking P1 - 2 min. away from Terminal 1. Exterior car park with covered lots.

Parking P2 - Closed facility 2 min. away from Terminal 2.

Parking P4 - Covered garage with direct access to modules A, B, E and F of Terminal 4.

Parking exprés - Immediate access to the Arrivals Hall of terminals 1 and 2, ideal for short stays.

Parking preferente T4 - Closed building with free spaces indicator, located in modules C and D.

Motorcycle parking
Terminal 1: behind P1.
Terminal 2: next to the metro station.
Terminal 4: in front of modules A and B of P4.

Bicycle parking
Terminal 1: outside P1 and between the arrival road for cabs and private vehicles.
Terminal 2: opposite express parking and next to the metro station.
Terminal 3: adjacent to the entrance doors of the building.
Terminal 4: at the arrivals road.


Services for passengers with special needs

There are accessible counters, magnetic induction loops for the hearing-impaired, reserved parking spaces and a service for the visually-impaired that notifies about the state of their flights through messages to their mobile phones. Remember to inform your airline about your particular needs at least 48 hours in advance. Most air companies offer escort for children between 5 and 12 years travelling alone, from the check-in process until their arrival to their destination.
