Sleeping in the Airport

If you have an early morning flight or an unexpected flight delay, the public landside area of Northwest Arkansas National Airport stays open 24 hours a day. However, note that the TSA security checkpoint and airside departure concourses close overnight after the arrival and departure of the final flight (usually between 11:00 p.m. and midnight) and do not reopen until around 3:45 or 4:00 a.m. Consequently, overnight travelers must remain in the public pre-security area on the lower level.

Inside the pre-security terminal area, travelers will find several armrest-free cushioned benches as well as the airport's signature wooden rocking chairs. Keep in mind that all airside restaurants and retail stores close during late-night hours, leaving only beverage and snack vending machines available. The terminal can also become quite cold overnight, so bringing extra layers or travel blankets is highly recommended. For uninterrupted sleep, staying at the nearby Wingate by Wyndham hotel, which is just minutes away and provides courtesy shuttle transportation, is the best choice.
