International travel to Taiwan is currently not allowed due to a recent escalation of COVID-19 cases. Visa issuance is currently suspended. This does not apply to nationals and residents holding a valid ROC Resident Certificate.
There are exemptions to the closure of the border for studies, emergencies or humanitarian reasons. Exemptions also apply to spouses and minor children of citizens of the ROC (Taiwan). A special permit must be obtained from the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) before applying for a special entry permit visa.
Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, using an approved vaccine, can choose from 3 quarantine programs. Vaccinated travelers can choose between programs A, B and C.
Program C allows travelers to self-quarantine for 7 days in a quarantine hotel, undergo PCR testing on the sixth day, and if a negative result is confirmed, travelers can spend the remaining 7 days. days of quarantine in your own residence or accommodation. A rapid test with a home test kit should be performed on the 10th day and a PCR test should be performed one day before the end of the home quarantine period.
If a negative test result is confirmed, travelers are released from quarantine and must undergo self-monitoring for 7 days. All costs incurred will be borne by the travelers. Approved vaccines include vaccines on the World Health Organization Emergency Use List (WHO EUL) or those approved for emergency use or manufactured by Taiwan. More details can be found HERE
Travelers must be quarantined for 14 days upon arrival at the traveler's expense. Travelers can choose between 2 quarantine programs. Program A allows travelers to self-quarantine for 14 days in a quarantine hotel and then self-check for 7 days. Program B allows travelers to self-quarantine for 10 days in a quarantine hotel, undergo PCR testing on the 9th or 10th day, and if a negative result is confirmed, travelers can spend the remaining 4 days of quarantine in your own residence or accommodation.
A PCR test must be performed one day before the end of the home quarantine period and, if a negative result is confirmed, travelers are released from quarantine and must undergo self-monitoring for 7 days. More information on quarantine options can be found HERE

Upon arrival, proof of a negative RT-PCR test in English or Chinese must be presented, taken within 72 hours of departure.
A PCR test will be administered on arrival.
Passengers must complete a 'quarantine system form for entry' within 48 hours prior to travel.
