Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area

Please note that some published services and schedules may be subject to change. If the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are about to board.

Spending the night at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport is a common practice due to its high volume of international and domestic connections. As it is a facility with uninterrupted activity 24 hours a day, the environment is generally safe, although the constant flow of passengers, bright lighting and public address announcements may make deep rest difficult. Travellers are advised to bring a sleep mask and noise-cancelling headphones.

Rest areas

Seating and comfort: In the more modern terminals (B and C), most seats have fixed armrests, which makes lying down difficult. However, on the third floor of Terminal C and in certain connection areas of Terminal E, it is possible to find some padded benches. Many travellers choose to sleep on the floor; if this is your case, look for the carpeted areas in the connecting corridors between the terminals of the Southern Complex (D and E), as the flooring in the Northern Complex is predominantly cold tile.

Aeroexpress Station: An alternative place frequently used by passengers is the third floor of the Aeroexpress train station. It is usually a slightly quieter and less crowded area than the main departure halls.

Premium options: If you prefer privacy and full comfort, sleep capsules such as GettSleep (Terminal C), Aerosleep (Terminal B) and GoSleep (Terminal E) are available for hourly rental. There are also lounges operating 24 hours a day (with a maximum stay of 3 hours) and the V Express transit hotel in Terminal E, which does not require passing through immigration.

Food and 24-hour services

Food: You will find cafés, fast-food chains and restaurants open throughout the night, mainly in Terminals B and C and in the Aeroexpress building.

Connectivity: Wi-Fi access is free and unlimited across all terminals, allowing you to spend your waiting time with digital entertainment.

Hygiene: Shower facilities are available in most lounges (for a fee) and in some rest cabin facilities within the transit area.

Luggage

For greater comfort and security while you rest, you can use the left luggage service available 24 hours a day on the first floor of Terminal B and in the Aeroexpress area. This will allow you to move freely around the airport without having to constantly watch your belongings.
