Stavanger Sola Airport, opened on May 29, 1937, is one of the largest in the country and the oldest in Norway. In addition to domestic flights, it operates with international destinations within Europe.

The airport is situated 14 km (8 miles) to the southwest of the city of Stavanger and 11 km (7 miles) northwest from Sandnes.

What services does Stavanger airport (SVG) facilities include

The airport has ATMs and free Wi-Fi access for 2 hours. The Scandic Stavanger Airport hotel, situated outside the Arrivals area, provides meeting rooms. The North Sea Lounge is situated on level 1 and opens from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm (until 7:00 pm in the winter season); it offers drinks, snacks, fax, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, newspapers and magazines, printers (access with DragonPass membership, through online booking or by paying at the door).

Food and Drinks- Restaurant and fast food outlet in the Arrivals area; coffee shop, restaurants, bar and pizza store in the Domestic Departures lounge; restaurant, bar and café in the International Departures Hall.
Shopping- Duty-free shops in the International Departures Hall and the Arrivals area. There are also clothing stores, kiosks and bookstores.

Public and private transportation

Bus - Flybussen (Tel +47 5159 9060) operates regular services to the city's terminal and port (Fiskepiren) through two different routes: Joabakken - Grannes - Tellusveien - Strømsbrua - Vålandsbakken - Byterminalen - Fiskepiren; and Joabakken - Grannes - Madlastokken - Mosvannsparken - Holbergs Gate - Byterminalen - Fiskepiren. Journey time is 20-30 minutes. There is also a service to Sandnes (20 min.), via Ljosheimkrossen, Stangeland, Møllegaten and Storgata.
Jaerlines (Tel +47 5190 9015) provides transportation to Bryne Mondays through Fridays between 7:15 am and 7:15 pm, stopping at Tjelta and Kleppekrossen. The trip takes around 30 min.
Line 42 from Kolumbus (Tel +47 5192 5200) leaves every 15-30 min. to Forus and Sandnes (1 hour trip), with intermediate stops at Prestaskjersveien, Tjora, Solakrossen, Åsenhallen and Kvadrat.

Taxi - Ranks are found between the terminal and the garage, to the left of the Arrivals Hall. Travel time to the city centre is about 15 minutes. Services for passengers with special needs

Lifts, designated parking spaces and accessible restrooms are available. Children between 5 and 12 years old travelling alone will be escorted by the crew of the air company.
