Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all regular services and hours may be subject to change. Thus, if the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are close to boarding.
Spending the night at the airport
Stuttgart airport operates with many flights inside Europe and other destinations, so movement is usually constant, even during the night. As it tends to be noisy and pretty cold, it is recommended to have a sleeping bag, blankets, earplugs or headphones. To be able to remain inside the enclosure you will need proof of an onward flight.
Where to rest: The best place to catch some sleep is the mezzanine floor of Terminal 4, where you can find comfortable benches, as well as next to the entrance to the observation deck. Another option is to enter one of the VIP lounges, although these close at night. On the other hand, inside the airport grounds there are two hotels, and more alternatives nearby, which provide free shuttle services.
Baggage: The enclosure provides lockers next to Terminal 1.
Eating and drinking: In addition to a McDonald's that opens 24 hours a day, at night you can only count with vending machines.
Restrooms: There are no showers inside the terminals, but there are in the airport's bus station.
Wi-Fi: Free for 1 hour.
Other services available around the clock: ATMs, children's play areas, massage chairs.
The Mövenpick Hotel Stuttgart Airport is situated in front of Terminal 3, while the Wyndham Stuttgart Airport Messe is found 200 meters away from the enclosure. There are also several alternatives nearby, among them:
Best Western Plaza Hotel Stuttgart-Filderstadt (1.6 km/1 mile)
Fritzis Art Hotel (1.6 km/1 mile)
Hotel am Hirschgarten (1.6 km/1 mile)
Gasthof zur Sonne (1.7 km/1.1 miles)
Airport Hotel Filder Post (1.7 km/1.1 miles)
