List of Airlines at PLU Airport

The following is a list of airlines serving Belo Horizonte Pampulha airport (PLU)

Please note: Contact details and schedules, airline offers, and routes may vary according to the season and the commercial decisions of each company, so it is always advisable to check the available flights on the official website of the airport or airline before planning your trip.

Flights and Airlines

Currently, no scheduled commercial passenger airlines operate regular flights at Pampulha Airport. All scheduled commercial passenger traffic for the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area is concentrated at Tancredo Neves / Confins International Airport (CNF).

Flight activity at Pampulha is exclusively dedicated to general and business aviation, air taxi services, pilot training centers, and corporate charter flights. Commercial airlines that previously operated scheduled routes at this terminal, including Azul Linhas Aéreas, Gol Linhas Aéreas, Voepass, and TwoFlex (Voe Minas Gerais), have permanently discontinued their operations here.

Issues to resolve with the Airline before or after the trip (Updated 2026)

Many passengers do not know who to contact or how to file a complaint when doubts or problems arise before or after a trip. Below are the key topics that should be checked, coordinated or resolved directly with the airline, ideally well in advance.

Check-in process and documentation (passport validity)

In addition to a visa, many countries require your passport to remain valid for a minimum period (often 3 to 6 months) beyond your arrival or departure date. It is not always enough for it to be valid until your return. Confirm the requirement with the airline and the embassy of your destination country before checking in online.

Luggage limits, prohibited items and cabin baggage rules in Europe

In July 2026 the EU approved a reform of air passenger rights that guarantees a free personal item (up to 40 x 30 x 15 cm) that fits under the seat. The new rules are expected to apply from 2027, and airlines can still charge for a larger overhead cabin bag. Check the baggage policy of your specific fare to avoid charges at the gate.

Checked baggage fees and excess baggage fees (always read the fine print)

Requirements for minors traveling without their parents

Some countries require a signed, and sometimes notarized, travel consent when a minor travels alone or with only one parent. Requirements depend on the destination and on the child's nationality. Also check whether the airline offers an "Unaccompanied Minor (UM)" service, its age limits and booking deadlines.

Travel coordination for passengers with disabilities, reduced mobility, and pregnant women (by week)

Many airlines ask for a medical certificate from around the 28th week of pregnancy, and restrict travel in the final weeks. Passengers with reduced mobility should request assistance at least 48 hours in advance to ensure ground support.

Claims for cancellations, delays or denied boarding (EU rules)

Under EU Regulation 261/2004, flights covered by the rule that arrive 3 hours or more late, or are cancelled at short notice, may entitle you to compensation of €250 to €600 depending on the distance, unless the airline proves extraordinary circumstances. A reform approved in July 2026 keeps these amounts and the 3-hour threshold, and adds new deadlines for claims; it is expected to apply from 2027. Keep your boarding pass, receipts and all communications with the airline.

Traveling with pets (cabin or cargo hold) and guide dogs

Many airlines allow small pets in the cabin with prior booking and a fee, but spaces per flight are limited, so reserve early.
Guide or assistance dogs: they usually travel free of charge in the cabin, but you should notify the airline at least 48 hours in advance and carry the required documentation (identification, vaccination record and health certificate). Do not leave this until you are at the airport.

Possible changes to travel dates or cancellations by the passenger (check whether your fare allows a full refund or only a voucher)

Flight schedule confirmation and flight status (delays, cancellations, rescheduling)

If the airline moves your flight to another day, ask about assistance and compensation (hotel, meals and missed connecting flights)

Recommendation: It is always advisable to have travel assistance insurance that covers medical expenses and flight disruptions. External insurance can make it easier to handle cancellations or lost luggage.

Pro Tip: Download your airline's app and check its online check-in window, which is often earlier for international flights. Arrive at the airport 3 hours in advance for international flights. In the Schengen Area, the new Entry/Exit System (EES) registers fingerprints and a facial image of non-EU travelers at the border, which can add time on your first entry.
