Bus - COTRAL (Tel +39 800 174 471) leaves from in front of the Arrivals area of Terminal 2 and heads for Piazza dei Cinquecento, Tiburtina Railway Station, the metro terminals of Cornelia and Eur-Magliana, Piazza Sirio and Piazza Stazione, in Ostia. The trip takes 1 hour and tickets have a cost of €2.80.

Terravision (Tel +39 697 610 632) travels from opposite Terminal 3 to Termini Station, going through Marsala. It departs every 30 minutes, with a trip of 55 min. and a fare of €5.80.

The Sit Bus Shuttle (Tel +39 6591 6826 / 6592 3507) leaves from Terminal 3 to Termini Station via Marsala and the Vatican city, with a cost of €6.00. Buses run every 30 min. and the journey takes around 55 min.

TAM (Tel +39 665 047 426) provides transportation to Ostiense, Piazzale 12 Ottobre 1492 and Rome Termini stations every 30 min., with a trip of 45 min. The fare is €6.00 and stops are located in front of Terminal 3.

On the other hand, Schiaffini (Tel +39 6713 0531) offers services to Termini Station in about 45 min., with a fare of €6.90.

Train - The Leonardo Express service from Trenitalia (Tel +39 668 475 475) departs every 15-30 minutes between 6:25 am and 11:25 pm and connects the enclosure with Rome Termini Station. The trip takes around 35 min. and the fare is €14.00. Regional train FL1 has a frequency of 15 min. and runs to the main stations in the city, such as Trastevere (27 min.), Ostiense (32 min.), Tuscolana (41 min.) and Tiburtina (47 min.), as far as Fara Sabina/Orte (1 hour and 30 min.) Tickets cost between €8.00 and €11.00. In addition, high-speed trains (Frecciargento) depart at 11:08 am and 3:08 pm to the cities of Rome, Florence, Bologna, Padua and Venice.

Taxi - Ranks are found outside the Arrivals area of terminals 1 and 3. It is recommended to only use authorized cabs (white and with license numbers). Journey time to downtown Rome is about 40 minutes and the fare is €48.00. The trip to Ciampino airport has a cost of €50.00, and to Civitavecchia harbour is €120.

Transportation Tips to/from the airport?

 
While there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take into account when moving from or to the airport, and especially if you go on some public transport.
 
 1- To the airport - It is convenient to go out with a little more anticipation than you would commonly suggest. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always keep in mind peak transit times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may take more or less the trip to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what happens in the place where you find yourself.
If you have a shared transfer service, please have a contact Tel in case of any delay on the part of the company. In these cases, a scheduled collection schedule is already in tenter.
If you are using public transport (bus, train), have the schedules (weekends and holidays usually have fewer frequencies), if you have to transfer and also how to board (if you need a card or boarding pass or paying at the moment to the driver or rider). These are details that seem obvious, but it is advisable to know not to have surprises and suffer a delay that could bring complications.
If you rent a car to get to the airport check well, where you must leave the vehicles. In some airports, there is an exclusive parking lot for rental cars.
 
 2 -From the airport- here is a little less stressful as you don't have the pressure to miss the flight. In the worst case you will arrive later to the place where you are going to stay or to the meeting point where you try to arrive. Once you get out of the plane, pick up your suitcase and finish with the required arrival procedures. Then you have to look for the public transport signs or consult the airport staff. It is very useful to inform the timetables of the buses in case you arrive late at night. Not all of them work 24 hours a day. The same goes for taxis.
