Lounges, facilities and services at East Midlands airport

East Midlands Airport offers an exclusive space designed to provide tranquillity and comfort for passengers before their departure, allowing them to escape the bustle of the main terminal.

The Escape Lounge

This lounge is located in the departures area, after the security checkpoint, opposite gate 17. Once past the retail area, it can be accessed via the stairs or the lift leading to the upper floor.

Opening hours: Daily from 4:00 am to 5:00 pm (hours may be subject to change depending on seasonal flight schedules).

Services: Complimentary menu with hot and cold buffet options, selection of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, free high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations for electronic devices, national and international newspapers and magazines, and screens with real-time flight information.

Access: Entry is permitted for members of the Priority Pass, LoungeKey, DragonPass or Diners Club programmes. Access is also available by making an advance reservation via the official website or by requesting entry directly at the reception desk, subject to availability.

Conditions: Smart casual dress is required. Children of all ages are welcome, and those under 2 years old generally enter free of charge.

Finance and Connectivity

The airport provides cash machines dispensing both pounds sterling and euros, located in public areas as well as in the departures lounge. Currency exchange services are operated by ChangeGroup. To stay connected, the airport offers free Wi-Fi for a period of 2 hours; after this time, paid options are available to extend the service. For business meetings, the Radisson Blu hotel, located just a short distance from the airport, offers extensive conference and event facilities.

Dining

The food offering is varied and includes cafés, pub-style bars and fast-food restaurants. In the public area (before security), you will find options such as Greggs, while in the boarding area the selection expands with establishments such as Castle Rock Tap Room & Kitchen, Burger King and Starbucks.

Shopping

In addition to the World Duty Free shop in the departures area, passengers also have access to WHSmith (newspapers and books), JD Sports and Accessorize.

Baggage Services

• Baggage Trolleys: Available throughout the car parks and in front of the terminal. They operate on a £1 deposit system (refundable upon returning the trolley).
• Lost Property: The airport manages items lost within the terminal. If you have lost an item, you must complete the official contact form. If the item was left on board an aircraft, you must contact your airline directly.

Other Services

• Prayer Room: Located in the check-in hall, open 24 hours a day for passengers of all faiths.
• Baby Facilities: Dedicated rooms for baby changing and infant care are located throughout the terminal and clearly signposted.
• Smoking Area: Smoking is only permitted in designated areas outside the terminal, before passing through security.
