Commuter Rail (RTD - University of Colorado A Line)

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) commuter rail is the fastest and most reliable way to travel between the airport and downtown. Trains depart directly from the DEN Transit Center (Level 1), located at the south end of the Jeppesen Terminal beneath the Westin Hotel.

• Route: Connects the airport station to Denver Union Station in downtown Denver, making 6 intermediate stops (including 61st & Peña, Peoria for light rail R Line connections, and Central Park).
• Frequency and travel time: Runs every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes in late-night/off-peak periods. The entire trip takes approximately 37 minutes.
• Fares and ticketing: The Airport Day Pass costs $10.00 USD and provides unlimited rides on all RTD bus and rail lines for the entire service day. Tickets can be bought at platform vending machines, with contactless card payment (Tap-n-Ride), or via the official RTD mobile app.

Regional Public Buses (RTD) and Bustang Coaches

From the DEN Transit Center bays, travelers can access RTD express bus routes and regional coach services:

• RTD SkyRide and Regional Routes: Routes AB1 and AB2 provide direct service to Boulder; Route AT connects to Arapahoe County and the Nine Mile station; and routes 104L, 145X, and 169L serve Thornton, Brighton, and Aurora. The airport fare is $10.00 USD.
• Bustang (CDOT): Direct intercity motorcoach service linking the airport to Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, and points along the I-25 corridor.

Door-to-Door Vans and Shared Shuttles

Private shuttle operators such as Groome Transportation offer shared-ride vans and private door-to-door transfers connecting the airport to surrounding counties and neighboring cities. Passenger pickup is on Level 5 of the terminal, Island 5 (east side: doors 505-507; west side: doors 510-512).

Mountain Resort and Ski Shuttles

Denver is the premier gateway to Rocky Mountain ski resorts. Licensed Mountain Carriers provide direct shared and private shuttle service to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Aspen, and Steamboat Springs.

Pickup location: Jeppesen Terminal, Level 5, Island 1, outside doors 511-513 (East side) and doors 504-506 (West side). Advance booking is recommended with carriers such as Epic Mountain Express, Summit Express, or Peak 1 Express.

Hotel Shuttles and Charter Buses

• Nearby Hotel Shuttles: Complimentary airport hotel shuttles board at Level 5, Island 3.
• Charter and Tour Buses: Group buses pick up on Level 5, Island 4.

Taxis

Metered taxicabs operate 24 hours a day and are stationed on Level 5 of the Jeppesen Terminal, at Island 1. Access the pickup bays through doors 505-511 on the East side or doors 506-512 on the West side.

Flat regulated rates apply to major central zones (approximately $60.00 to $75.00 USD plus gate surcharge and tip to Downtown Denver, Denver Tech Center, and Boulder); all other destinations are calculated on the meter. Travel time to downtown typically ranges between 25 and 35 minutes depending on traffic.

Rideshare Apps (Uber / Lyft)

App-based transportation providers such as Uber and Lyft operate from dedicated pickup points outside the terminal:

Meeting area: Jeppesen Terminal, Level 5, Island 5. Exit through doors 505-513 on the east side or doors 504-512 on the west side. The app will direct you to a specific boarding zone (marked A, B, C, or D) where your driver will meet you. Estimated fares to downtown Denver generally range between $40.00 and $70.00 USD depending on surge pricing.
