Covid-19: Regulations for travel to Italy

International travel to Italy is allowed. You need to meet the requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Other restrictions

Mandatory vaccination

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from quarantine, private transportation, and notification to local authorities requirements. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to departure. The list of approved vaccines and certificates can be found HERE

EU COVID digital certificate

Travelers can provide their EU digital certificate on paper or digitally as proof of vaccination or negative test result. Health documents provided in this way will not require additional verification on arrival. Full details on the EU digital certificate, including how EU residents can access their certificate, can be found HERE

Quarantine is in effect upon arrival

Travelers must self-isolate for 5 days upon arrival at their own residence or accommodation. A molecular or antigen smear test will be administered at the end of this period.

It is mandatory to submit medical certificate / proof

Upon arrival, proof of a negative COVID-19 molecular test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be presented. Alternatively, a negative antigen smear test can be provided, taken within the previous 24 hours. Individuals arriving without valid test results will be required to quarantine for 5 days and undergo molecular or antigen swab testing at the end of this period.
