Bilbao Airport, opened on September 19, 1948, and also known as La Paloma (The Dove) due to the architectural shape of the terminal, is the most important in the Basque Country. It operates with domestic flights and international destinations inside Europe.

The airport has ATMs, postbox, plugs for electric devices and Wi-Fi access with no charge. The Holiday Inn Express hotel, located nearby, provides conference facilities. The Sala VIP lounge is located on the mezzanine floor of the terminal and opens Mondays through Fridays between 5:30 am and 9:30 pm and weekends from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm, with a maximum stay of 4 hours; it provides catering, newspapers and magazines, TV, computers, Wi-Fi, air conditioning (accessible with Priority Pass, Lounge Club, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door - €33.90).
Food and Drinks- Restaurants, fast food outlet and coffee shops on level 3. There is another café on level 1.
Shopping- Duty-free goods and convenience store in the Departures area, floor 3. In addition, there are shops selling regional food, clothing and accessories, newsagents, sweets, gifts.

Bus - Bizkaibus (Tel +34 902 222 265) operates line A3247 to Bilbao bus terminal, with stops at Gran Vía 79, Plaza Moyua and Alameda Recalde 11. It departs every 15 minutes between 6:15 am and 0:00 am. Journey time is 20 min. and the fare is €3.00. Tickets can be acquired in the Arrivals Hall.
PESA (Tel +34 902 101 210) provides direct transportation to Zarautz and Pío XII Square, in San Sebastián. Tickets have a cost of €17.10. There are also daily services to Eibar (Ego-Gain), Bergara (Ibargaray) and Arrasate (Garibay).
Taxi - Outside the Arrivals area there are cabs from Femade Radio Taxi (Tel +34 944 800 909). Extra charges apply for trips on weekends, holidays and night hours (from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am). The fare to the city centre is €24.00-29.00 and the journey takes around 15 minutes.

P1 - Five-storey facility located 100 meters away from the north end of the terminal and connected to it through an underground hallway. For stays of up to 4 days. Premium bays on the ground floor.
P2 - Long-term parking situated on the Departures level, linked to the main building via a covered pedestrian walkway.
Parking express - Two lots for short stays (up to 60 minutes) across from the Arrivals and Departures areas.
Passengers requiring special assistance or wheelchairs should inform their airline or travel agency about their particular needs at least 48 hours in advance. Children travelling alone will be escorted through the check-in process until their arrival at their destination.
