Sleeping inside or in nearby hotels at ATW Airport

Overnight layover guide: sleeping options in the public area and the boarding area

If you have an overnight layover or an early morning flight at Appleton International Airport, review the following guidelines:

Overnight Hours & Access

The passenger terminal is open 24 hours. However, the TSA security checkpoint closes overnight after the last departing flight and reopens between 4:00 AM and 4:30 AM. Overnight passengers must stay in the pre-security (landside) public lobby.

Resting Areas

The terminal features heating and padded seating, though most chairs have fixed armrests and there are no dedicated reclined sleeping loungers. Bringing an extra travel blanket or sweater is recommended.

Overnight Amenities

Restaurants and shops close overnight; only automated vending machines offering snacks and drinks remain accessible. Free Wi-Fi and power outlets remain active 24/7.

Safety & Practical Details

The building is monitored 24 hours by airport safety personnel. There are no terminal showers or overnight pharmacies, and standard luggage storage is not permitted due to federal regulations.

 Hotels

There are no on-site hotels or sleeping pods inside the terminal building.
