Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo airport

Location

The airport is located on Carretera Nacional a Acapulco s/n, 6 km (4 miles) southeast of downtown Zihuatanejo and approximately 18 km from the Ixtapa hotel zone.

Travel time to downtown Zihuatanejo is approximately 15 to 20 minutes, while reaching the Ixtapa resort strip takes around 30 minutes.

Authorized Taxis

Ticket booths are situated inside the terminal building in front of the arrivals area. Authorized companies include Auto Transporte de Zihuatanejo, Enlace Terrestre Aeroportuario, and Transporte Turístico Aeropuerto de Zihuatanejo. They operate from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm, providing fixed regulated rates per zone in both private and shared services.

Ride-Hailing Apps

App-based drivers such as Uber are not federally authorized to pick up passengers curbside at airport terminals in Mexico. Passengers wishing to use these services must walk outside airport grounds to the main road.

Car rental company counters are located on the ground floor of the passenger terminal. Vehicle collection and returns take place in the parking lot adjacent to the terminal.
