Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport stays open 24 hours a day and is very calm and secure through the night. While public seating features armrests, airport security personnel are known to be accommodating toward stranded overnight travelers.

The terminal annex area tends to experience lower foot traffic and dimmer lighting, as motion detectors automatically dial down illumination once passengers settle in for the night. Due to cold subarctic weather during most of the year, bringing a travel blanket or warm outerwear is strongly advised.

Bistro and retail concessions close by late afternoon, leaving automated vending machines as the only midnight food and beverage option. Wi-Fi service and mobile device charging ports remain operational round the clock. The airport does not have shower facilities or overnight luggage lockers.
