Real time search and Book OnlineInternational travel to Canada is permitted for vaccinated travelers. There are exceptions for unvaccinated citizens and those traveling for "essential reasons". You need to meet the requirements to ensure entry is allowed.
There are exemptions to border closure for essential reasons, such as travel for temporary foreign workers, international students, and compassionate reasons. Tourist travel is not allowed unless fully vaccinated. When leaving Canada, travelers must present a valid certificate for full COVID-19 vaccination. Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full COVID-19 vaccination, using an approved vaccine, do not require an essential reason to enter and are exempt from quarantine requirements. Vaccinated travelers are still required to provide a pre-departure test and can be randomly selected to be screened upon arrival. Travelers should also have a proper quarantine plan for 14 days as a precaution, even when seeking full vaccination exemption. Proof of vaccination must be uploaded to the ArriveCAN app. Final dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to departure and supporting documentation must be in English, French, or with a certified translation. Proof of a negative test result, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided upon departure. Instead, travelers can provide documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. This will require proof of a positive test result, taken at least 14 days prior to departure and no more than 180 days prior to departure. A molecular test will be administered on arrival and travelers will receive COVID-19 home sample collection kits to be taken on day 8 of the quarantine period. The kit contains information on how to collect, store, and ship the samples. The ArriveCAN app must be downloaded to submit proof of vaccination, negative test result, previous recovery, contact information, and quarantine plan. All necessary information must be sent at least 72 hours before arrival.
