Viracopos International Airport (VCP), located in Campinas, is one of Brazil's most strategic transportation hubs and the main hub for Azul Airlines. Opened on October 19, 1960, and operated by the concessionaire Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos, it is a key hub for cargo and passenger transportation in the state of São Paulo. Terminal

The airport operates with a modern passenger terminal, opened in 2016. The facility is divided into specific piers: Pier A is designated for international flights, while Piers B and C are used for domestic operations.

Operating Hours: The terminal remains open 24 hours a day.

Information Points

The customer service desk ("Balcão de Informações") is located in the Check-in area on Floor 1 and provides assistance 24 hours a day. It is also common to find staff members wearing yellow "Posso Ajudar?" vests in the public areas, helping and directing travelers.

Edifício Garagem

This is the main parking option and is located directly across from the terminal. It consists of a multi-level building that provides protection from the weather for vehicles. It is directly connected to the Check-in area (Floor 1) via a covered pedestrian walkway, allowing for quick and safe access.

Economy Parking Lot (Outdoor)

A more affordable option with uncovered parking spaces, located farther from the terminal. Access is via Rua Concorde.

Grace Period and Tolerance

Tolerance: There is a 10-minute grace period free of charge for passenger drop-off and pickup in the express access lanes. After this period, the system will register the stay and the applicable fee must be paid for the time used.

Payment Methods and Access

The parking system is integrated with automated payment technology. Access and payment can be made using electronic toll tags (Sem Parar, Veloe, ConectCar, and Taggy). There are also self-service payment terminals (kiosks) located throughout the main building and the connecting walkway, where credit cards, debit cards, and cash are accepted.

Legal Benefits

In accordance with Brazilian regulations, reserved and clearly marked parking spaces are available for people with disabilities, senior citizens, and pregnant women in locations closest to the entrances. For vehicles driven by or transporting people with physical disabilities and reduced mobility, specific exemptions or discounts may be available upon presentation of the appropriate documentation at the parking customer service desk before exiting.

Viracopos International Airport features modern infrastructure designed according to universal accessibility standards and in compliance with Resolution 280 of Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). The facilities are equipped to ensure safe, independent, and dignified access for all users.

Reduced Mobility

The passenger terminal features access ramps, appropriately sized elevators, moving walkways, adapted public telephones, and dedicated restrooms for people with disabilities or reduced mobility on all levels.

Boarding and Disembarkation: The airport prioritizes the use of boarding bridges. When operations take place at remote stands, the airport has Ambulift vehicles (motorized lifts) to facilitate access to the aircraft without the need to use stairs.

Requesting Assistance: The provision of wheelchairs and assistance during security and boarding procedures is the responsibility of the airlines. It is essential to request special assistance when making the reservation or at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure.

Invisible Disabilities

Viracopos participates in the Sunflower Lanyard program (Cordão de Girassol), a standard recognized by Brazilian legislation. This identifier allows passengers with non-visible conditions, such as autism, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, or sensory disorders, to be identified so airport staff can provide more empathetic assistance, additional time, and support during security procedures and while waiting.

The airport has a multisensory room, opened in December 2025, designed to accommodate neurodivergent passengers and their companions. The space is located in the domestic boarding area, after the X-ray security checkpoint, and features soft lighting, relaxing sounds, tactile materials, and aromatherapy to reduce sensory overload. It is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Priority Assistance

Under Brazilian law, the following passengers are entitled to priority service at check-in counters, security checkpoints, and boarding gates:

• Senior citizens (60 years or older), with special priority for those over 80.
• Pregnant and breastfeeding women.
• People traveling with young children (under 2 years old).
• People with disabilities or reduced mobility.
• People with morbid obesity.

Traveling with Babies and Children

Families traveling through the terminal have access to areas known as Espaço Família (Family Spaces). These facilities are equipped with changing tables, comfortable nursing chairs, and microwave ovens for warming children's food. They are located in both public areas and domestic and international boarding areas.
