Coronavirus and FAQs at (MVD) airport

Coronavirus Answers and Frequently Asked Questions for Passengers at Montevideo airport (MVD)

Worldwide situation. General considerations
Due to the advancement of vaccination worldwide, documentation and testing restrictions have been eliminated in many countries. In fact, in some countries, by presenting the complete vaccination certificate against Coronavirus, RT-PCR or antigen test results are no longer required, nor is a health affidavit form.

However, we insist once again, that in the situation of constant changes, it is always important to ask and arrange details with the airline and, if necessary, with the airport as well as, in the case of international flights, with the embassy or consulate near the final destination, and also with the countries involved for connecting flights, if any.

The airport's swab centre, operated by ATGen (Tel +598 2600 6001; e-mail: [email protected]), is located in the Departures Hall, next to the Starbucks. It is open around the clock and to take a test, passengers are asked to show their flight reservation and the document with which they are travelling. Results are sent via e-mail and WhatsApp before boarding in PDF format, in Spanish and in English. You can book an appointment beforehand at the following LINK.

Antigen tests are done 24 hours a day, have a cost of $2,500.00 and results are issued in an hour.

PCR tests cost $4,500.00 and there are turns at different hours:
- Turn 1: 8:00 pm to 7:30 am, results at 10:30 am.
- Turn 2: 7:30 am to 9:00 am, results at 12:00 pm.
- Turn 3: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, results at 6:00 pm.
- Turn 4: 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, results at 11:00 pm.
