Malmö Airport (MMX) is the fifth most important airport in Sweden. Opened on 1 December 1972 to replace the former Bulltofta Airport, it serves the Scania region and the Öresund area. Terminals

The airport has a single passenger terminal, compact and efficient, handling both domestic and international flights (Schengen and non-Schengen). The building remains open 24 hours a day.

The Visitor Centre is located on Level 1 of the terminal. There you can receive assistance regarding flights, airport services and transport.

The airport is located in the municipality of Svedala, 28 km (17 miles) east of Malmö, 26 km (16.2 miles) south-east of Lund and 55 km (34.2 miles) from Copenhagen.

Currency exchange services are managed by Forex, located in the check-in area, with opening hours covering most flight operations. To stay connected, the airport offers free Wi-Fi for a period of 3 hours or up to 100 MB of data usage; if you require more time or data, a premium paid option is available via the login portal.

Food & Drink

The food and beverage offer includes cafés, bars and restaurants such as Bistro & Bar, with options available both in the public area and in the departure lounge after security control. Opening hours are generally aligned with scheduled flight departures, offering everything from quick snacks and Swedish coffee to hot meals and alcoholic beverages.

Shopping and Duty-Free

After security control, you will find Malmö Duty Free, where you can purchase perfumes, cosmetics, spirits and sweets at tax-free prices if travelling outside the European Union, or at standard prices for intra-EU flights. In the public area there is a convenience store and newsstands for last-minute shopping, snacks and travel essentials.

Baggage Services

• Luggage trolleys: These are available at key points throughout the terminal and in the car parks for passengers’ free use.
• Lost Property: For items lost inside the terminal, you should go to the Visitor Centre in the public area. If the item was left on board an aircraft, you must contact your airline or its ground handling agent directly.

Other Services

Flajt's is a play area dedicated to keeping children entertained before their flight. There are also nursing rooms and baby changing facilities in the toilets throughout the terminal. For corporate users, equipped meeting and conference rooms are available and can be booked through the airport administration.

The airport offers several parking areas to suit different needs, from short-stay parking next to the terminal to more economical options for long stays. All car parks provide payment via automated machines located within the car parks or in the terminal building.

Pick-up and Drop-off Zone (P7)

There is a dedicated area for dropping off or picking up passengers, located 1 minute from the terminal. This area is ideal for quick stops of just a few minutes.

Parking Areas

• P1 & P3: Open-air areas designed for long stays, located approximately 4 minutes’ walk from the terminal. They offer more economical rates for travellers leaving their vehicle for several days.
• P2: Open-air short-stay car park located a short distance from the terminal. Ideal for quick pick-ups and drop-offs.
• P4: Multi-storey car park adjacent to the terminal, covered and with direct access to the building. It is the most convenient option due to its proximity.

Electric Vehicles

The airport provides dedicated spaces for charging electric vehicles. These charging stations are located in the covered car park P4 and in the outdoor area P2. The charging service is managed and paid for via mobile applications indicated at the charging points.

Additional Services

In the P4 car park building, users can access vehicle care services while travelling, such as exterior washing, interior cleaning and basic maintenance. These services must be arranged directly at the parking customer service offices.

Facilities for passengers with special needs

Malmö Airport is designed to be accessible and comfortable for all travellers, offering specific services for passengers with reduced mobility, families, and those travelling with pets or unaccompanied minors.

Special Assistance

To ensure proper assistance, it is essential to contact your airline or travel agency at least 48 hours before your flight to request the service. Airport staff will accompany you throughout the entire process, from your arrival at the terminal to your seat on the aircraft, including security and passport control.

Meeting Points: You can request assistance once you arrive at the airport via the information desk or at the assistance points located in the parking areas.

Parking: There are designated spaces for passengers with reduced mobility in both the long-stay car park P1 and the P4 car park. These vehicles must display a valid disabled parking permit.

Travelling with Children

The airport provides facilities designed for families passing through the terminal:

• Pushchairs: If you have checked in your own pushchair, the airport offers complimentary loan pushchairs that can be used after security control until boarding.
• Nursing and changing rooms: Available at various points throughout the terminal, equipped with baby changing facilities.

Unaccompanied Minors

This service is available for children aged between 5 and 11 (and optionally up to 17, depending on the airline) travelling without an adult. Travelling with Animals

If you are travelling with pets or assistance dogs, you must inform your airline in advance, as each company has its own regulations regarding transport in the cabin or hold.
