Ride-sharing

Grab operates in Krabi with variable availability. Once you have collected your luggage, open the app, select the airport as the pickup point, and follow the instructions to meet your driver. Keep in mind that during peak demand hours (especially during high season, November-April) there may be waits or limited driver availability; in that case, official airport taxis are the most reliable alternative.

Buses

Pichet Transport Co. operates the shuttle bus service between the airport and the main tourist destinations in the area. Tickets (150 baht per person) must be purchased at the designated counter in the arrivals hall before boarding — payment cannot be made on board. Services operate from 6:00 am to approximately 8:00-9:00 pm (the last bus departs when the vehicle is full or at service closure; no night service).

Destinations and approximate travel times:

• Krabi Town - approximately 30 minutes (14 km)
• Ao Nang - between 60 and 90 minutes depending on the number of hotel stops (26 km)
• Nopparat Thara Beach - approximately 75-90 minutes

Keep in mind that the bus to Ao Nang does not follow a direct route: it first passes through Krabi Town and then continues towards the coast, making stops at various hotels. If you are traveling in a group or with a lot of luggage, a private taxi may be more convenient.

To reach the islands in the area (Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Koh Samui, Koh Lipe, Trang, or Langkawi), there are minibuses with connections to Klong Jilad Pier and Thong Sala piers in Krabi Town, where you can board a ferry. Operators Tiger Line Ferry and Seatran Discovery offer this type of minibus-ferry combinations; check availability and book in advance during high season through platforms such as 12Go or Klook, as ferries may fill up on weekends.

Taxis

Official airport taxis are green and yellow vehicles available 24 hours at the exit of the Terminal 3 arrivals hall. Fares are fixed and paid in advance at the counter located inside the arrivals hall — no need to negotiate with the driver. Reference fares are: ~350 baht to Krabi Town (20 minutes, 12 km), ~550-600 baht to Ao Nang (35-45 minutes, 26 km). An airport surcharge of 50-100 baht is added to these fares. Payment is made in cash in Thai baht; most do not accept cards.

Operators available at the airport include KrabiCab, which has an updated fare table on its website, and other private transfer services available at the airport transport counter. For those who prefer to book in advance with an English-speaking driver and guaranteed price, services such as Welcome Pickups offer private transfers from the airport.

Grab has an official pickup point at Terminal 3, gate 17 (domestic arrival gate 17). Exit the baggage claim area and turn left; follow the signage to the ride-sharing point.
