Overnight Operating Hours
La Aurora International Airport keeps its runways and flight operations active 24 hours a day for scheduled, charter, and cargo flights. Travelers holding a valid boarding pass or confirmed itinerary for an early morning departure or overnight layover are permitted to remain inside the terminal building overnight. Airport AVSEC security personnel and the National Civil Police (PNC) regularly check flight tickets before allowing overnight stays.
Rest Areas and Comfort
The terminal does not feature designated quiet rest lounges or sleeping pods. Most seating units in the boarding concourse are rigid plastic or metal with immovable armrests, preventing passengers from lying flat across seats. Many overnight transit passengers rest on the floor; if choosing this option, carrying a travel sleeping mat, an eye mask (fluorescent terminal lighting stays fully lit all night), and warm clothing is strongly advised, as nighttime temperatures inside drop considerably.
Overnight Dining
Restaurants, snack bars, and coffee shops (including Starbucks) do not operate 24 hours: they close between 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm and reopen around 3:00 am to 4:00 am. It is advisable to purchase drinks and snacks before stores shut down.
Showers
Shower facilities are not available anywhere in the terminal or inside the VIP lounges.
Security and Wi-Fi
The airport features constant 24-hour security patrols by AVSEC officers and the National Civil Police (PNC). Free Wi-Fi connectivity and ATMs from the 5B, BAC Credomatic, and Banco Industrial networks remain operational overnight.
