To hire a car at Canberra Airport, drivers must generally meet the following requirements:
- Driving licence: A valid and current driving licence is required. If the licence is not in English, an International Driving Permit (IDP) must be presented together with the original licence from your home country.
- Minimum age: Most companies require a minimum age of 21. Drivers under 25 may be subject to additional “young driver” fees and restrictions on certain luxury or larger vehicle categories.
