Lounges, facilities and services at Halifax airport

Currently, Halifax Airport does not have an operational lounge. The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, located on Level 1 next to Gate 20, is closed for its first complete transformation in 30 years. The lounge is expected to remain closed until early 2027.

During this period, travelers wishing to access a space for relaxation or refreshments are encouraged to visit the other restaurants and concessions available at the airport, both before and after the security checkpoints.

Features of the Future Lounge

Once the renovation is completed (scheduled for early 2027), the new lounge will offer the following improvements confirmed by the operator:

• More space: It will nearly double its current size, with expanded and upgraded seating areas.
• Local and timeless design: It will include design elements and materials inspired by Nova Scotia’s coastal landscape.
• Full-service bar: It will offer selected cocktails, wine, and beer.

The airport offers a wide range of services to ensure passenger comfort during their stay, including free connectivity and various commercial and financial facilities.

Financial Services and Connectivity

ATMs are available on both the main level (arrivals) and the departures level (post-security). Wi-Fi access is free and high-speed throughout the terminal via the "HalifaxStanfield" network.

Dining

The dining options include full-service restaurants, fast-food outlets, cafés, and bars located throughout the terminal. One notable option is ALTcetera, located in the public area of the main level, offering meals and snacks available 24 hours a day. Other well-known brands present at the airport include Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and A&W.

Shopping

The Halifax Duty Free store is located in the departures level for duty-free shopping. In addition, the airport features convenience stores, bookstores, clothing shops, souvenir stores, and regional Nova Scotia products such as the famous maple syrup and packaged seafood.

Baggage and Lost & Found

Baggage storage: A storage service is available for a maximum period of two weeks at the Security Office, located in the central tunnel (lower level). Opening hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Lost and found: If you have lost an item within the terminal, you should contact the Security Office in the central tunnel or send an email to [email protected]. For items left on board an aircraft, passengers must contact the corresponding airline directly.

Other Services

The airport features a nursing room equipped for greater privacy on the departures level, a 24-hour interfaith chapel, children’s play areas, and small book exchange libraries. Emergency medical services and automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are also available at key points throughout the terminal.
