Ride-sharing

An affordable option for getting to and from the airport is to request a ride with Uber. Pick-up points often change, so it is best to follow the instructions directly from the app once you have confirmed your journey.

Bus

Express service E4 from STPT (Tel +40 356 803 700) connects the airport to the city centre via Swoboda, VGP Park, Jumbo, Ghiroda, Arena Aqua and Badea Cartan, while the E4b line runs to Gara de Nord and Baritiu station, stopping at Swoboda, Jumbo, Ghiroda, Badea Cartan and Oituz. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes and tickets can be purchased in the domestic area of the terminal. They operate Monday to Friday from 4:54 am to 11:40 pm and weekends from 6:20 am to 11:40 pm.

Taxi

Taxi ranks are located in front of the passenger terminal. Vehicles can be ordered from Radio Taxi (Tel +40 256 940), Index Taxi (Tel +40 256 933), Getax (Tel +40 256 134 470) and Fan Taxi (Tel +40 256 444 944). The journey to the city centre takes 15 minutes and costs €4.00-5.00.

Tips for getting to and from TSR

Going to the airport

  1. Leave earlier than you think you need to: Timisoara airport is 12 km from Timisoara. Allow for rush-hour traffic, strikes or events, and check the local news before you go.
  2. On public transportation, check the schedule (weekends and holidays usually have fewer services), whether you need to change lines and how to pay: transit card, contactless or cash.
  3. If you booked a shared shuttle, keep the company's phone number at hand in case the pickup is late.
  4. Returning a rental car? Follow the signs to the rental car return area. If you drive your own car, check parking at TSR.

Leaving the airport

  1. After baggage claim and customs, follow the ground transportation signs. The arrivals page has a step-by-step guide.
  2. Arriving late at night? Not every bus or train runs 24 hours: check the last departure in advance. Ride-hailing apps usually pick up at a designated zone, not at the curb.
  3. With a private transfer, the driver usually waits in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name.
