Bucharest Aurel Vlaicu Airport, also known as Baneasa Airport and opened on August 1, 1912, is the oldest in Romania. Currently it only operates with charter and private flights.

The airport is located in the Baneasa district, 8 km (5 miles) to the north of Bucharest.

Line 131 - Piata Romana, Piata Charles de Gaulle, Piata Presei, Complex Comercial Baneasa; 335 - Piata Presei, Piata Charles de Gaulle, Vasile Lascar, Piata Iancului, Faur; 112 - Pipera, Piata Baneasa, Nuferilor, Dridu, Laromet, Complex Comercial Colosseum; 301 - Piata Romana, Piata Charles de Gaulle, Piata Baneasa, Jolie Ville Baneasa. The 783 express service also reaches the city centre, with stops at Piata Presei Libre, Piata Victoriei, Piata Unirii and Henri Coanda airport. The trip takes around 30 min. and the bus stop is located in front of the airport.
Tram - Line 5 from STB (Tel +40 213 365 650) connects the airport with the city centre from 5:00 am to 10:30 pm, with frequencies of 10-20 minutes.
Metro - The M2 service from Metrorex (Tel +40 213 193 601) runs from Pipera to Aurel Vlaicu Station between 5:00 am and 11:30 pm, and then on to Piata Victoriei, Piata Romana, Piata Unirii, Tineretului, Eroii Revolutiei, Piata Sudului and Berceni.
The enclosure has parking areas for short and long stays, equipped with CCTV and security staff.
