There are exemptions to the closure of the border for essential reasons, including travel for work or studies. Tourist travel is not allowed unless fully vaccinated. Travelers who present a valid international certificate of complete vaccination against COVID-19, using an approved vaccine, may enter without essential reason and are exempt from quarantine requirements. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before and no more than 6 months before departure. Those who have been vaccinated on a single dose schedule will be considered fully vaccinated after 21 days. This document must be in Slovak, Czech or English.
Travelers can provide their EU digital certificate on paper or digitally as proof of vaccination. Health documents provided in this way will not require additional verification on arrival. Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided upon departure.
Travelers must register their arrival online via the "eHranica form" prior to arrival. Additionally, a "Public Health Passenger Locator Form" must be presented upon arrival.
