Jacksons International Airport, also known as Port Moresby Airport, is an international airport, the largest and busiest in Papua New Guinea, with domestic flights and flights to several destinations in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Solomon Islands and Philippines.

The airport is located 8 km (5 miles) outside Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.

What services does Port Moresby airport (POM) facilities include

Air Niugini Paradise Vip Lounge is available in both terminals. Service hours: From first departure until last one. Services: Wi-Fi, showers, alcohol drinks, food, newspapers magazines, TV. 

There is free Wi-Fi in both terminals. Passengers need to present their boarding pass and photo ID to get a username and password. There are also -postal services, ATMs Cash Machines, bankingservices and  currency exchange.

Restaurants and cafeterias, shops and Duty free as well as Luggage Storage are also available.

Public and private transportation

Bus services - A ride from POM Airport to Port Moresby city centre may take 30 minutes, always depending on traffic or exact destination.

PMV - The kind of public transportation that exists in the city is called PMV and consists of mini buses or open trucks that offer service through diverse routes. Normally visitors doesn’t use this type of transport, but if you do, we recommend you to be extremely careful. As being such a small airport, Port Moresby Airport doesn’t offer public transportation to and from the airport.

HOTEL SHUTTLES

From the Airport there are shuttles that depart to the hotels located in downtown. Some hotel shuttles are free are some cost a little fee. We recommend to check with your hotel for availability and details.

Taxi - The ride to Port Moresby city centre takes 20 to 25 minutes. A taxi ride from Port Moresby Airport to Port Moresby city centre takes around 20 minutes, always depending on traffic and exact destination. We ought passengers to be extremely cautious while taking a legal taxi. Security is a matter to concern in Papua New Guinea, even in taxis. Taxi ranks are located outside both Terminals.
FARES - The fare to Port Moresby city centre is around 80 PGK (Kinas), 20 €. There are no meters, so consider to negotiate the fare with the driver. 

Taking a private transfer is quite more expensive but it will be a more secure option.

DOMESTIC TERMINAL PARKING

It has a capacity for up to 274 vehicles.

INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL PARKING

It has a capacity for up to 397 vehicles. 

Currently, the airport parking doesn’t charge parking fees but it wants to implement it in the future. 

Facilities for passengers with special needs

For passengers requiring special needs, it is recommended a prior coordination (48 hours in advance) with the airline.
