Which VIP lounges are at Port Moresby airport (POM) and how to access them
The airport features exclusive spaces designed to provide greater comfort and tranquillity for passengers before their flight, with facilities available both in the domestic sector and in the international departures area.
Domestic Terminal
Kumul Domestic Lounge: Located in the boarding area of the domestic terminal. Opening hours are aligned with scheduled flight operations. It offers a range of services including:
- Complimentary Wi-Fi access.
- Snacks, light refreshments, and a selection of beverages.
- Reading materials, local newspapers, and television.
- Access: Air Niugini Business Class passengers, Kumul Club members (Premium/Standard), and Platinum or Gold Frequent Flyer members. Silver members have limited access of two visits per year.
International Terminal
Kumul International Lounge: Located on the departures level of the international building, available during flight operating hours. Services include:
- Dining area with both hot and cold meal options.
- Showers available for transit passengers or before long-haul journeys.
- Business centre with high-speed Wi-Fi.
- International press and television entertainment.
- Access: Air Niugini Business Class passengers, Kumul Club members, and Frequent Flyer Platinum and Gold members. It also allows entry for Qantas members (Chairman’s Lounge, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Qantas Club) travelling with Air Niugini.
Note: Passengers without membership or travelling in Economy Class may purchase access passes for PGK 200.00 per person, subject to availability.
Facilities and other services
The airport offers a range of essential services for travellers, distributed across the departures and arrivals areas of both terminals. Most commercial outlets operate in line with the schedules of the main flights.
Financial Services
Within the airport, you can find banking services operated by Bank South Pacific (BSP). In addition, there are ATMs available 24 hours a day in the public areas of both terminals.
Connectivity and Communication
The airport provides free Wi-Fi access for passengers. In the international arrivals area, there are also postal and telecommunications service outlets (such as Digicel and Telikom) where local SIM cards and data plans can be purchased.
Food and Drink
Dining options include cafés and fast food kiosks. There is also a full-service restaurant located near the main airport entrance, ideal for longer waits.
Shopping
In the International Terminal, you will find duty-free shops offering a selection of perfumes, spirits, and tobacco. The airport also features souvenir shops selling local handicrafts from Papua New Guinea, newspapers, travel essentials, and basic electronics.
Baggage
- Baggage storage: A left-luggage service is available in the public area of the International Terminal, generally operating during both daytime and evening hours in line with flight schedules.
- Lost luggage: In the event of lost or damaged baggage, you should go directly to the counters of the airline you travelled with or to their customer service offices located in the arrivals area.
Other Services
The airport has a business centre in the public area of the Domestic Terminal, as well as travel agencies that can assist with bookings for domestic flights and tours around the country.
