Velana International Airport, also known as Malé International Airport and opened on October 19, 1960, is the most important in the Maldives. It operates with domestic and international flights to destinations in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Location
The airport is located in Hulhulé Island, 3 km (1.8 miles) northeast from the city of Malé.

Bus
MTCC (Tel +960 332 6822) operates services to Malé from 6:10 am to 1:10 am, with stops at STELCO, Tow Yard, Maafannu, Dharumavantha and West Park. There are also buses to Hulhumalé from 6:05 am to 0:05 am, stopping at Fehires Park, Central Mall and Amin Avenue. Further informationFerry

There is a small parking lot outside the terminal building, but it is mainly reserved for use by official vehicles.
