Bus - Malta Public Transport (Tel +356 2122 2000) operates several services from the airport: X1 to Cirkewwa from 5:20 am to 10:50 pm, with intermediate stops in Marsa, Msida, Mater Dei, Pembroke, Qawra, San Pawl il-Bahar, Xemxija, Mellieha and Marfa; X2 to San Giljan between 6:00 am and 11:00 pm, going through Santa Lucija, Paola, Marsa, Msida, Mater Dei, Gzira and Sliema; X3 to Santa Lucija, Luqa, Paola, Marsa, Santa Venera, Birkirkara, Balzan, Attard, Ta' Qali, Rabat, Mtarfa, Mosta, Burmarrad, Qawra and Bugibba from 5:30 am to 10:30 pm; X4 from 5:30 am to 11:00 pm to Birzebbuga, Hal Far, Luqa, Marsa, Hamrun, Floriana and Valletta. Tickets prices: €1.50 in the winter, €2.00 during the summer, €3.00 at night. Journey time to downtown Valletta is around 25 minutes.

On the other hand, Malta Transfer (Tel +356 2133 2016) provides transportation to several hotels throughout Malta and Gozo and has a counter in the baggage reclaim area. Fares from €5.00.

Transportation Tips to/from the airport?

While there are issues that seem more than obvious, it is always advisable to take into account when moving from or to the airport, and especially if you go on some public transport.
 1- To the airport - It is convenient to go out with a little more anticipation than you would commonly suggest. If you choose a taxi or a private car service, always keep in mind peak transit times, demonstrations, strikes or events that may take more or less the trip to the airport from where you are. It is always good to be informed about what happens in the place where you find yourself.
If you have a shared transfer service, please have a contact Tel in case of any delay on the part of the company. In these cases, a scheduled collection schedule is already in tenter.
If you are using public transport (bus, train), have the schedules (weekends and holidays usually have fewer frequencies), if you have to transfer and also how to board (if you need a card or boarding pass or paying at the moment to the driver or rider).
