Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
The new airport terminal is very new, so there are likely to be changes in the arrangements. In any case, it is best to have headphones or earplugs if you want a good night's sleep. Keep valuables with you and avoid leaving your belongings unattended. Dress comfortably and bring a blanket or jumper in case the temperature at the airport is low.
Where to rest: Seating is generally limited, but you can find some comfortable benches next to the cafeterias. Inside the terminal, there are also VIP lounges open 24 hours a day. Note that the maximum stay is 3 hours. There is also a hotel on the fifth floor.
Baggage: There is currently no left-luggage service at the airport.
Eating and drinking: The available options close in the evening. Take some snacks and water with you to keep you nourished and hydrated.
Restrooms: Showers are only available inside the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: Service is free for 2-hour sessions.
Other services available around the clock: Currency exchange bureaus, ATMs, prayer rooms, medical clinic, children's play area.
The Aerotel Muscat is located on level 5 of the terminal boarding area. In addition, a number of accommodations can be found in the vicinity of the airport and in the city centre, some of which provide shuttle services for their guests.
