Overnight layover guide. Sleeping facilities in the public zone or boarding area
It is very frequent to meet many passengers at Dubai airport who are waiting for connecting flights early in the morning, and therefore spend part of the night inside the terminals. Besides opening 24 hours a day, there are several services available throughout the night.
Where to rest: Most of the seats have armrests, so they are not comfortable for resting. Only some of the chairs are reclinable, so if you find a free one, you better occupy it fast. They are located in Terminal 3, concourses A and B, near gates A1, A16, A21, A24, B1-2, B7-8, B10-11, B14-23, B25-27, B29 and B31-32. Due to the powerful air conditioning system, inside the terminals it is usually quite cold, and therefore it is advisable to have a blanket or warm clothes. Also, as there are so many people at night, it is usually very bright and noisy, and it is best to have a mask and earplugs. For those passengers wishing for a more comfortable rest, there are sleeping pods in Terminal 3, equipped with TV, luggage storage and Wi-Fi. Another option (by paying or through a credit card providing the service) is to use some of the VIP lounges, where you can access more amenities and privacy, and which are available 24 hours a day.
Luggage: The left luggage service (in the Arrivals area of terminals 1 and 3) is available around the clock, so you can rest without carrying your bags the whole time.
Eating and drinking: The food court remains open 24 hours a day.
Restrooms: There are showers on the Departures level of Terminal 1 (between gates C18 and C22) and Terminal 3 (between gates B13 and B19 and between gates A1 and A24). Also inside the VIP lounges.
Wi-Fi: The airport has free and unlimited access, although it is a bit slow, so if you want to use it for work or to plan your next travel movements, you will have to access the pre-paid option. There are power sockets and USB ports to recharge mobile devices.
Other services available around the clock: Commercial stores, medical clinics, currency exchange bureaus, baby changing facilities, children's play area, prayer rooms, pharmacies.
Inside Terminal 3 is situated the Dubai International Hotel, while across from gate A1 there are cabins from Sleep n' Fly by Yawn. In addition, opposite the same building you can find the Holiday Inn Express Dubai Airport and the Premier Inn Dubai International Airport. Close to the airport it is possible to find more options, some of them with shuttle services for their guests.
