Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all regular services and hours may be subject to change. Thus, if the idea is to spend the night in the public area, consider a plan B in case the stay inside the airport is only allowed for those who are close to boarding.
Spending the night at the airport
Cluj airport is open 24 hours a day, so you can spend the night inside the enclosure with no problems if you have a flight or connection early in the morning. It is recommended to have headphones, earplugs and a sleeping mask, as lights are on throughout the night and loud noises and music are common.
Where to rest: Available seats inside the terminal have armrests and are hard and uncomfortable, so it is best to lay on the floor, especially with a sleeping bag or blankets. Try to stay on the first floor, as here you will have easier access to the restrooms and power outlets. With a bigger budget you could also enter one of the airport's VIP lounges, although these are close at night. Finally, there are some hotels in the surroundings that operate shuttle services.
Baggage: At the moment there is no left-luggage service inside this airport.
Eating and drinking: Eateries close at night, but you can find vending machines.
Wi-Fi: Free and unlimited.
The closest accommodations are located in the city centre. Some of them provide shuttle services for their guests.
