Transfer to/from - Asunción airport (ASU)

The airport offers several public and private transportation options connecting the terminal with Asunción's financial district, historic center, and the neighboring city of Luque.

Buses

Public bus service has stops in the vicinity of the airport. One of the main connections is route 30, operated by Vanguardia, with the blue (30-2) and green (30-6) branches connecting the airport with the Financial District (Av. Aviadores del Chaco) and the capital's Historic Center, with a travel time of 40 to 50 minutes.

The E3 route, operated by electric buses, was recently introduced and provides a direct connection between the Port of Asunción and the airport. The E3 route is currently operating on a pre-operational basis with limited hours, with fixed and clearly marked stops along its route.

• Hours: Services generally operate from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., although frequency decreases considerably on weekends and public holidays.
• Payment: The use of electronic transit cards (Jaha or Más) is mandatory. Cash is not accepted on board. Cards can be purchased and reloaded at authorized sales points and at some retail establishments inside the airport.

Ride-hailing apps

The Uber and Muv (a local Paraguayan app) platforms operate at the airport. To use these services, you should request your vehicle through the app once you have collected your luggage. Drivers usually pick up passengers in designated areas near the terminal's exit doors. Make sure to verify the vehicle's make and license plate before getting in. Driver availability outside daytime hours may be limited, so this option is not recommended as your primary plan for late-night arrivals.

Taxis

Official taxi stands are located outside the arrivals area, with vehicles available 24 hours a day, making them the most reliable option outside daytime hours. The trip to downtown Asunción usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Recommendation: It is advisable to use only authorized taxis that are properly identified at the airport's official taxi stands.
