Covid-19: Regulations for travel to Georgia

International travel to Georgia is allowed for "essential reasons" only. This does not apply to Georgia citizens or vaccinated travelers.

Vaccinations and travel rules for vaccinated people

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full COVID-19 vaccination, with the use of an approved vaccine, may travel for any reason and are exempt from the testing requirements, and are not required to submit an 'application form special'. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before the trip. Alternatively, those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 who have received at least one dose of an approved vaccine are exempt from testing requirements and are not required to submit a "special request form." The dose must have been administered at least 14 days before the trip.

Conditional quarantine

If another country has been visited in the previous 14 days that is considered high risk, travelers will not be required to self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival at an approved government facility. At the end of this period, a PCR test will be administered. Quarantine and PCR tests are carried out by the traveler, with the exception of citizens of Georgia.

Test is done upon arrival

A PCR test will be administered on the third day after arrival by the traveler.

 Tips before departing

  Make sure you arrive at Tbilisi airport (TBS) at least 3 hours before the flight if it is an international flight or 2 if it is a domestic one.

  Check the luggage limits (size, weight, items forbidden, etc) with your airline.

  Have all the documentation to carry out the check in (ticket, passport, Visa).

  Check the  Transportation available towards the Tbilisi airport (TBS) and the Terminal where you depart. If you arrive at the airport by car check the airport   Parking facilities.

  Check the   Facilities and Lounges (if there are) within the airport grounds, to organize your waiting.

  At the check-in desk (if necessary) you can check the big baggage, show your ticket (printed or in your phone) and passport and receive your boarding pass. In case you do not need to check a luggage, some airports have self-service check in kiosks where you can get and print your boardking pass.

  Then, at the security control area, if you bring a laptop or a similar device, in you cabin luggage, you will have to place it outside the hang bag. After passing the security area you will get in at the boarding zone. Check you boarding gate and wait the airline call, always having in hand your passport and boarding pass.

  If you are a handicapped passenger, you should coordinate your trip with your airline at least 48 hours in advance and check the  Disabled Passengers facilities. Enjoy your flight!
