Sharm el-Sheikh airport (SSH)

Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport, opened on May 14, 1968, is one of the busiest in Egypt. It operates with domestic and international flights to destinations in Europe and the Middle East.

The airport has a bank, currency exchange offices, ATMs, public telephones and Wi-Fi access. The larger hotels in the coastal area, about 15 minutes away from the grounds, provide business services and conference rooms. The Pearl Lounges are located on the second floor of Terminal 1 and next to the check-in counters in Terminal 2; they are open 24 hours a day (maximum stay: 3 hours) and offer children's play areas, smoking rooms, snacks, drinks, telephones, Wi-Fi, TV, air conditioning, newspapers and magazines (access with Priority Pass, DragonPass or Diners Club membership, through online booking or by paying at the door).

On site are coffee shops, fast food outlets and restaurants with regional and international food.

Duty-free shops (local goods, food, perfumes, tobacco, liquor), souvenir stands, bazaars, jewellery, bookstores.

Public and private transportation

Bus

There are minibus services that depart from outside Terminal 1 to the city only when they are full. Travel time is about 15 minutes and fares must be agreed upon with the driver.

Taxi

Ranks are located outside Terminal 1, vehicles being available around the clock. In addition to regular cabs, there are tourist taxis which are more expensive. Prices should be negotiated with the driver before the trip. Journey time to the city centre is 10 minutes.
