Ground transportation options

Public transportation, licensed taxis and ride-hailing apps, private transfers and car rental at Prague Václav Havel Airport (PRG), 12 km from Prague. See also the airport guide for general information.

Public Buses (PID)

Prague’s public bus service (PID) offers several routes connecting the airport with different parts of the city and metro stations. Tickets can be purchased at airport sales points (Arrival Halls), ticket machines at the stops, or via the Lítacka mobile app.

Line 59: Connects the airport (Terminals 1 and 2) with Nádrazí Veleslavín metro station (Green Line A). Operates approximately from 4:30 am to 12:30 am, with a frequency of 5 to 20 minutes. The journey takes about 15 minutes.
Line 100: Links the airport (Terminals 1 and 2) with Zlicín metro station (Yellow Line B). Operates approximately from 4:30 am to 12:00 am, with a journey time of about 18 minutes.
Line 191: Connects the airport with Na Knízecí (Yellow Line B) and Andel (Yellow Line B) metro stations, passing through Petriny. The journey takes about 50 minutes.
Night Line 907: Operates from 12:00 am to 4:00 am, covering routes to Hradcanská, Hlavní nádrazí (Central Railway Station), Karlovo námestí, and Andel.
Night Line 910: Operates from 12:00 am to 4:00 am, connecting the airport with Svandovo divadlo, I.P. Pavlova, Kacerov, and Modrany.

Bus stops are located directly in front of the exits of Terminals 1 and 2.

Airport Express

The Airport Express service provides a fast and direct connection between the airport and Prague’s Central Railway Station (Hlavní nádrazí). It operates approximately every 30 minutes from 5:30 am until 10:00 pm. The journey takes about 35–40 minutes.

Ticket Purchase: Tickets can be bought from the driver, at the Czech Railways counters at the Central Station, or at the airport information desks.

Intercity Buses

There are also services available to various cities in the Czech Republic and other European countries:

RegioJet: Prague, Karlovy Vary.
FlixBus: Prague, Karlovy Vary, Berlin, Brno, Strasbourg, Budapest, Krakow.
Gepard Express: Brno.
PragBus: Chemnitz, Marienberg, Hradcanská Metro Station.

Trains

Although there is no direct railway connection to the airport, the Airport Express takes you to Prague’s Central Railway Station (Hlavní nádrazí), where you can connect with Ceské dráhy (CD) trains to travel to various destinations within the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries.

Taxis

The official taxi operator at Prague Airport is Liftago. Service counters are available inside Terminals 1 and 2, and vehicles can be found at designated stands outside the Arrival Halls. The estimated travel time to the city centre is 20–30 minutes.

Ride-sharing and Car-sharing

Ride-sharing services such as Uber operate at the airport. To request a ride, use the corresponding mobile app and follow the instructions to meet your driver at the designated pick-up point.

The car-sharing service CAR4WAY also has vehicles available on the second floor of car park C.

Tips for getting to and from PRG

Going to the airport

Leave earlier than you think you need to: Prague Václav Havel Airport is 12 km from Prague. Allow for rush-hour traffic, strikes or events, and check the local news before you go.
On public transportation, check the schedule (weekends and holidays usually have fewer services), whether you need to change lines and how to pay: transit card, contactless or cash.
If you booked a shared shuttle, keep the company's phone number at hand in case the pickup is late.
Returning a rental car? Follow the signs to the rental car return area. If you drive your own car, check parking at PRG.

Leaving the airport

After baggage claim and customs, follow the ground transportation signs. The arrivals page has a step-by-step guide.
Arriving late at night? Not every bus or train runs 24 hours: check the last departure in advance. Ride-hailing apps usually pick up at a designated zone, not at the curb.
With a private transfer, the driver usually waits in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name.
