The airport offers a variety of transport options to connect with Cork city and other locations in Ireland.

Buses

The bus stops are conveniently located right in front of the terminal building.

Bus Éireann

Bus Éireann operates several routes to and from the airport, providing a direct connection to Cork city centre (including Kent Train Station) and other key destinations.

  • Route 225: Connects the airport with Kent Train Station (via Cork city centre) and with Carrigaline, Shanbally, Ringaskiddy and Loughbeg.
  • Route 226: Offers service to Parnell Place Bus Station, Kent Train Station, and towns such as Riverstick, Belgooly and Kinsale.

Connections to Other Cities

Other bus and coach companies offer direct services to major cities outside County Cork. Citylink provides transport to Limerick and Galway with several daily departures via service 251.

Trains (Iarnród Éireann)

The airport does not have a direct train station. However, you can connect with the national rail service operated by Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) from Kent Train Station in Cork city centre, which is easily reached via bus routes 225 and 226.

From there, connections are available to major Irish cities such as Dublin, Limerick and Tralee.

Taxis

An official taxi rank is available just outside the terminal building. The journey to Cork city centre takes around 15 minutes and costs approximately €20.00.

It is recommended to use only licensed taxis available at the official rank.

Tips for getting to and from ORK

Going to the airport

  1. Leave earlier than you think you need to: Cork airport is 6.5 km from Cork. Allow for rush-hour traffic, strikes or events, and check the local news before you go.
  2. On public transportation, check the schedule (weekends and holidays usually have fewer services), whether you need to change lines and how to pay: transit card, contactless or cash.
  3. If you booked a shared shuttle, keep the company's phone number at hand in case the pickup is late.
  4. Returning a rental car? Follow the signs to the rental car return area. If you drive your own car, check parking at ORK.

Leaving the airport

  1. After baggage claim and customs, follow the ground transportation signs. The arrivals page has a step-by-step guide.
  2. Arriving late at night? Not every bus or train runs 24 hours: check the last departure in advance. Ride-hailing apps usually pick up at a designated zone, not at the curb.
  3. With a private transfer, the driver usually waits in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name.
