Covid-19: Regulations for travel to Gabon

All passengers traveling to Gabon must present a valid negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test no older than 3 days or a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate to enter Gabon.

Upon arrival, all passengers are required to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 test at Libreville Airport. Passengers will then need to self-isolate for 24 hours at designated hotels at their expense while the COVID-19 test is processed. The immigration authorities will retain the passports during this time and will return them once the isolation time has passed. If the COVID-19 test is negative, passengers will receive a test certificate, which will be valid for 14 days and can be renewed at the end of this period after taking another test. Holders of vaccination certificates are exempt from mandatory testing and self-isolation. Holders of vaccination certificates have to undergo the mandatory tests,

Travelers holding a diplomatic passport and their travel orders must undergo the mandatory PCR tests at the airport (20,000 CFA francs), but are not quarantined at a government-designated hotel and do not leave their passport at the airport . This applies whether the diplomat is vaccinated or not.

If the COVID-19 test carried out at the airport is positive, passengers will have to continue with self-isolation and wait for specific instructions from the Gabonese health authorities. Visitors to Gabon will have to go to one of the hotels that the Gabonese government has designated for isolation. British citizens residing in Gabon who test positive should isolate themselves at home and call the toll-free number 1410 for further instructions. All COVID-19 tests performed in Gabon supersede those performed prior to arrival in Gabon.
