Requirements for Renting a Vehicle

To pick up a rental car at Kingston Airport, you will generally be required to meet the following requirements:

• Driver's license: A valid physical driver's license issued by your country of origin, generally held for at least one to two years. If the document is not written in English or in the Latin alphabet, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is usually required along with the national driver's license.
• Minimum age: The minimum required age ranges from 21 to 25 depending on the rental company. Drivers under 25 are commonly charged a daily young driver fee. Some agencies also impose a maximum age limit (between 70 and 75 years).
• Credit card: An international credit card in the name of the reservation holder, with sufficient available credit to cover the security deposit or deductible. Debit cards or cash are rarely accepted for this hold.
