Covid-19: Regulations for travel to Iceland

International travel to Iceland is allowed. You need to meet the requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

If a country outside of Europe (or countries in which the European Union has opened borders) has been visited or transited for more than 24 hours in the previous 14 days, travelers will need an `` essential reason '' to enter. This does not apply to residents of Iceland. The list of third countries that are allowed to enter can be found HERE

Vaccinated travelers, or those who have recovered in the past 180 days, can travel for any reason, including tourism. You can find a complete list of exemptions HERE

Vaccinations and travel rules for vaccinated people

EU COVID digital certificate

Quarantine is in effect upon arrival

A COVID-19 test will be administered on arrival, travelers must be quarantined for 5 days and will be retested at the end of this period. If the chosen accommodation does not meet certain conditions, the travelers will be quarantined in a designated facility. More information can be found HERE Those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 are exempt from testing and quarantine requirements. Travelers and can provide proof of a positive PCR test, taken at least 14 days prior to departure and no more than 180 days prior to departure.

 Tips before departing

  Make sure you arrive at Keflavík airport (KEF) at least 3 hours before the flight if it is an international flight or 2 if it is a domestic one.
