Location

The airport is situated approximately 10 to 13 km (6 to 8 miles) south of downtown Holguín and around 70 km from the seaside resort area of Guardalavaca and Playa Esmeralda.

The airport is located 15 to 20 minutes from downtown Holguín and approximately 45 to 60 minutes from the north coast hotel complexes in Guardalavaca.

Taxis

An official taxi rank is positioned directly in front of the terminal exits. Transportation is operated by Cubataxi and registered licensed drivers. A trip to central Holguín takes around 15 to 20 minutes, while rides to Guardalavaca take between 45 and 60 minutes, with pre-agreed rates typically ranging from 35 to 50 USD/EUR.

Tour Shuttles and Chartered Coaches

Most international vacation packages include ground transportation coordinated by destination management companies such as Transtur, Havanatur, and Viajes Cubanacán. Authorized representatives greet passengers outside customs and direct them to their assigned hotel shuttle coach.

Interprovincial long-distance bus routes operated by Viazul connect Holguín province with other major Cuban cities through the Holguín Central Bus Terminal on Carretera Central.
