Buses

From outside the terminal, in the arrivals area, public buses operated by Mowasalat (Karwa) connect the airport to various neighborhoods of Doha and to the industrial area. Payment is made using an electronic Karwa card, which can be purchased and topped up at vending machines and authorized points inside the airport and in the city.

Among the routes serving the airport, lines such as T612, which links the airport to the Industrial Area, and T613, which connects to Al Wakrah and the Mesaieed area, stand out. Services operate 24 hours a day with regular frequencies, so travel time to downtown Doha is usually around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic and the route.

Metro

On the lower level of the terminal is the Hamad International Airport T1 station on the Doha Metro, served by the red line, which directly connects the airport to the city's main cultural, tourist, and business areas, including the center (Msheireb), Corniche, West Bay, and Lusail, among other intermediate stops.

The Doha Metro network operates with automated trains and extensive hours, generally from early morning until after midnight, with high frequency during peak hours. Fares are paid using rechargeable travel cards or limited-use tickets that can be purchased at machines and counters at the airport station; it is advisable to check current hours and prices on the metro's official channels before traveling.

Taxis and apps

Official airport taxis are operated by Mowasalat (Karwa) and have meters. The taxi stand is located to the left when exiting the arrivals hall; just follow the "Taxi" signage or ask for directions at the information counters.

The trip to downtown Doha usually takes around 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Vehicles accept multiple contactless payment options, such as MasterCard and VISA cards, as well as compatible digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, and NAPS), making it easy to pay the fare without the need for cash.

In addition to hailing a taxi directly at the stand, you can also book a vehicle through the official Karwa app or via their website, which allows you to request the service in advance and check the estimated arrival time of the assigned car.

Alongside Karwa taxis, ride-hailing platforms such as Uber and other similar services operate in Doha, and at certain times they have designated pickup points in the parking areas near the terminal. In these cases, it is important to follow the app's instructions to locate the exact designated meeting area for transfers from the airport.
