Connecting at Copenhagen airport

Connection time calculator, immigration and security, and how to move between terminals at CPH.

How connections work at CPH

At Copenhagen airport, passengers connecting between two international flights can usually stay in the transit area without going through immigration.

The airport has 6 terminals or concourses (Pier A, Pier B, Pier C (non-Schengen), Pier D, Pier E (non-Schengen), Pier F). All of them are connected after security, so you do not need to clear security again to change.

Terminals / concourses: Pier A, Pier B, Pier C (non-Schengen), Pier D, Pier E (non-Schengen), Pier F

Getting between them: Walking airside: the farthest gates are about 10 to 15 minutes from the central tax-free hall

Terminals 2 and 3 share one central security checkpoint and one airside zone. Piers A, B and D handle Schengen flights; C and E non-Schengen flights, including long-haul; F low-cost carriers. Passport control sits on the way to piers C and E.

Passport control applies between Schengen (piers A, B, D) and non-Schengen (piers C, E) flights; arrivals into Schengen register at Entry/Exit System kiosks.

  • Schengen to Schengen on one ticket: about 40 to 45 minutes, with no second security check.
  • Connections with a non-Schengen leg need 60 to 90 minutes: the passport control queue can take 30 minutes at peak.
  • If a connection is delayed or cancelled, the Transfer Center is between gates B and C, next to the large tax-free shop.

Estimate based on typical times at this airport, not your airline's official minimum connection time. Immigration and security lines change with the time of day and season. On a single ticket, the airline must rebook you if you miss the connection; on separate tickets, it does not.
