Overnight Hours and Stay Policy

Spending the night inside Flamingo Airport is not permitted. The passenger terminal does not operate 24 hours: it closes every evening at 23:00 and reopens at 06:30 from Monday to Saturday (and at 03:45 on Sundays to handle early international departures). After the final flight of the day, the terminal is completely cleared and secured by airport staff and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, prohibiting passengers from staying overnight inside the building or under exterior walkways.

Options for Overnight Layovers

Because there are no 24-hour retail or dining venues, resting areas, or luggage storage facilities during the overnight closure, travelers with early morning departures or long nocturnal layovers must book overnight accommodations at nearby resorts or hotels in Kralendijk, just 5 minutes away.

Services and opening hours can change. If you plan to sleep in the public area, have a plan B: some airports only let passengers with a flight stay overnight.

Tips for a long layover

  1. Check whether you can leave the airport: it depends on your nationality, the visa rules of Bonaire and whether your bags are checked through.
  2. If you sleep airside, you will usually need a boarding pass for a flight that day. Ask your airline before you go through security.
