Covid-19: Regulations for travel to Barbados

The 'BIMSafe' mobile app must be downloaded and used for symptom tracking in the first 7 days after arrival. Travelers must also upload negative PCR test results or proof of vaccination into the app and present the QR code received upon arrival.

Vaccinations and travel rules for vaccinated people

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, using an approved vaccine, are exempt from quarantine requirements. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to departure. Vaccinated travelers are subject to rapid random antigen testing upon arrival, but quarantine will not be required.

Quarantine is in effect upon arrival

Travelers must be quarantined for at least 7 days in approved accommodation. A PCR test will be administered on day 5 and those who test negative will be released from quarantine. You can find a list of approved properties at https://www.visitbarbados.org/covid-19-travel-guidelines-2021

It is mandatory to submit medical certificate / proof

Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided upon departure.

Additional documents required

An online 'immigration and customs form' must be completed within 24 hours of departure.

 Tips before departing

  Make sure you arrive at Bridgetown airport (BGI) at least 3 hours before the flight if it is an international flight or 2 if it is a domestic one.

  Check the luggage limits (size, weight, items forbidden, etc) with your airline.

  Have all the documentation to carry out the check in (ticket, passport, Visa).

After passing the security area you will get in at the boarding zone. Check you boarding gate and wait the airline call, always having in hand your passport and boarding pass.

  If you are a handicapped passenger, you should coordinate your trip with your airline at least 48 hours in advance and check the  Disabled Passengers facilities. Enjoy your flight!
