Caracas airport (CCS)

Maiquetía Simón Bolívar International Airport, opened on January 1, 1945, is the main air terminal in Venezuela. Thanks to the expansion and renovations carried out on the last few years, it has become one of the safest, most comfortable and most modern in Latin America. It receives flights from the entire continent and the main destinations in Europe.

Number of Terminals - 2 - National Terminal and International Terminal, open 24 hours a day and linked via a pedestrian walkway. They are also connected by a free shuttle bus service.
Annual passenger traffic: 12 million passengers went through it in 2015.

There are two information desks in the Arrivals area of the International Terminal (Tel +58 212 303 1528 / 1580 / 1581 / 1582), and in the National Terminal are located in the Arrivals Hall and the Transit areas (Tel +58 212 303 1408 / 1483). There are also tourist information booths in the flight reception area, opposite the immigration offices and in front of the Departures area of the International Terminal, and in the central hallway of the National Terminal (Tel +58 212 355 1442 / 1765 / 1943 / 2152 / 2153 / 2204).

Location

The airport is located 26 km (16 miles) to the north of Caracas.

Bus - There is an express service from SITSSA (Tel +58 212 572 1609) that links the airport with the Hotel Alba Caracas, in the city centre, between 7:30 am and 8:30 pm.
There are also buses from UCAMC (Tel +58 212 352 4818 / 4140) that operate from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm and run to Parque Central, with stops at Gato Negro Metro Station, Plaza O’ Leary, Plaza Miranda and Bellas Artes Metro Station. Journey time is around 40 minutes and stops are located at the exit from the National Terminal, on level 2. It is important to acquire a ticket beforehand at the identification booth, in the Arrivals area.

Taxi - Official operators at the enclosure are Taxi Tours (Tel +58 212 794 1264 / 414 115 1630 / 416 608 3150 / 412 267 0103), Cooperativa Taxi Explorer Astrala (Tel +58 212 860 8138 / 212 860 5627 / 414 126 8207), Taxi Explorer UTAC (Tel +58 212 575 0053 / 1231) and TaxiB (Tel +58 414 291 2933). They are available 24 hours a day outside both Arrivals Halls and reservations can be made at the counters situated on level 3. The trip to downtown Caracas takes around 30 minutos.

 

The enclosure has two parking lots opposite the National Terminal and an additional one in front of the International Terminal. The three of them are constantly under the surveillance of the security staff. Fees

National Terminal
Estacionamiento de permanencia corta - For short stays. Available from 4:30 am to 11:30 pm. The payment booth is found on the second level of the building.
Estacionamiento de permanencia larga - Long-term parking. Open 24 hours a day. Payment must be made at the counters located in the east and west wings of the third level.

International Terminal
Estacionamiento de permanencia larga - Operates 24 hours a day and reserved for long stays. Payment booths at the exit from the facility, level 3.
